Which Rust port to use
Rust answers status checks on its query port. On most servers that is the game port plus one (28016 for a server on 28015), but owners can set any port. Paste the address you connect with: Steam tells us where the query port is.

Good to know about Rust servers
Rust servers with more than 255 players report the real count in their server tags, and we read it from there. A server that is wiping or restarting does not answer for a few minutes.
