How the RedM player count works

RedM is the multiplayer mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 made by cfx.re, the team behind FiveM. Its servers are listed in the same public cfx.re list as FiveM servers. Every 5 minutes we read that list and add up the players on every RedM server. Right now it holds about 1,800 RedM servers, and about 380 of them have someone on.

The count is what each server reported to the list. It does not include people playing Red Dead Online, Rockstar's own multiplayer, which has no public player count. For the whole game, see the Steam count for Red Dead Redemption 2.

Joining a server

Every server has a join code, the six or seven characters after cfx.re/join/. Open a server here and hit Join to start RedM on it. Most RedM servers are roleplay servers built on VORP or RSG Core, so expect a Discord and a whitelist on the bigger ones.

Why the count jumps

Evenings in Europe and North America are the busy hours. A server that restarts drops out of the list for a few minutes, and new servers tend to launch with a big crowd that thins out after the first weeks.
