How to use Instagram fonts
These are not real fonts. Instagram has no setting to change the font of a bio, a name or a caption. What you copy here is text made of Unicode characters that look like bold, cursive or bubble letters, so it keeps its look wherever you paste it.
In your bio or name
Copy a style, open Instagram, tap Edit profile, then your bio or name, and paste. Mixing works best: a styled first line with your name or what you do, then plain text and a few symbols. Your username cannot take these letters; Instagram only allows letters, numbers, periods and underscores there.
In captions, comments and stories
Paste into a caption or a comment the same way. Stories have fonts of their own in the text tool, and you can paste these styles there as well.
Why some styles show as boxes
A phone draws these characters with the fonts it has. When a font lacks one, you see an empty box or a question mark instead. The styles marked works everywhere show up on every current iPhone and Android phone; the others work on most phones but can turn into boxes on older ones. If you are not sure, look at your profile on a second phone.
Search and screen readers
Instagram search does not match fancy letters with normal ones, so a name written only in them is hard to find. Keep your username plain and keep at least one plain word in your name. Screen readers read these letters one by one or skip them, so style a word or a line, not your whole bio.
