How the Roblox player count works

Every public Roblox experience has a live "playing" number, the same one you see on its game page. This counter looks the game up through Roblox's public games API and reads that number, along with total visits and favorites, every 15 seconds. You can search by name, paste the game link, or type the place ID (the number after /games/ in the link).

How accurate is it?

It's Roblox's own number and it covers every server of the game at once, so it's as accurate as the game page itself. Roblox refreshes it on their side as well, which is why it sometimes jumps by a few hundred when a batch of servers fills up or shuts down.

Searching for games

The search box uses Roblox's own search, so results match what you'd find in the app. Roblox limits how often that search can be used. If it says it's busy, wait a few seconds, or paste the game link instead, which always works.

OBS and websites

Under Share and embed you can copy an OBS browser source URL (380 by 120 works well) or iframe code for a website. Handy if you make games and want the live player count on your stream or your studio's site.

What is a place ID?

It's the number in a Roblox game link. In roblox.com/games/920587237/Adopt-Me the place ID is 920587237.

Why is the number different from the game page?

Both show the number Roblox reports, just fetched at different moments. On a big game a difference of a few hundred players between two checks is normal.

How often does the player count update?

Every 15 seconds, on this page as well as in the embed and the OBS overlay.

Is this the same as the Roblox follower counter?

No. This page counts players in a game. To count the followers of a Roblox user, use our Roblox follower count.

Is it free?

Yes, including the embed and the OBS overlay. You don't need a Roblox account either.
