Look up any Steam game

Search a game, enter its Steam App ID or paste a store link such as store.steampowered.com/app/730/. The count covers people running that app on Steam, not players using other launchers. This page checks every 30 seconds while visible; Steam can return a cached figure.

How the Steam player count works

The number comes from Steam's GetNumberOfCurrentPlayers API and covers players running the selected Steam app. It does not include other launchers or represent everyone who played during the day. We check every 30 seconds while the page is visible; Steam's publication interval can vary, and an unchanged count can be a cached reading. The time shown when a number changes is when we first observed it, not a publication timestamp supplied by Steam.

On top of the live number we keep a history for about 300 games: the Steam top 100, games that were in it recently, the games Space-Node hosts servers for, other well played games and games people look up here. Games in the top 100 get a reading every 10 minutes, most others every 30 minutes. The chart shows those readings for the last 48 hours and the hourly peak and average for up to 90 days, and the month table keeps an average and a peak for every month since we started tracking a game, so you can see when a game is busiest and whether it is growing or fading.

Session peak and low show up once the count changes while this page is open, and only cover the time since you opened it. Leave it open during a big update or a free weekend and you can watch the count climb in real time. For the full ranking, see Steam Charts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work for any Steam game?
Yes, for any game with a public Steam App ID. Some very small, region locked or delisted apps return no count because Steam does not publish one for them.
How do I find a game's Steam App ID?
Open the game on the Steam store and look at the address bar. The number right after /app/ is the App ID, for example 730 in store.steampowered.com/app/730/. You can paste the whole link into the search box.
Why is the count different from SteamDB or Steam Charts?
Everyone reads the same Steam API, just at different moments. Peaks and averages also depend on how often a site checks, so two sites can show a slightly different 24 hour peak for the same game.
How far back does the player history go?
We keep every reading for 48 hours, an hourly peak and average for 90 days, and a monthly average and peak for as long as we track the game. It all starts on the day we began tracking a game. We don't copy older numbers from other sites, so a game we only just added has a short history for now.
What does "peak since tracking" mean?
It is the highest player count we have seen for that game since we started tracking it, including the 24 hour peaks Steam reports for days we fully tracked. A game can have had a bigger peak before that, for example at launch, which is why we don't call it the all-time peak.
Can I show the count on stream?
Yes. Copy the OBS link below and add it as a Browser Source. A size of 500 x 120 pixels works well.
