Richard Marx vs Rihanna on Spotify

Comparing monthly listeners

Type two artists above and you get both numbers side by side, the gap between them and a chart of both, one point per day. Spotify updates monthly listeners about once a day, so the gap moves once a day too.

Monthly listeners counts different people who played an artist in the last 28 days. An artist with a new album can pass a much bigger name for a few weeks and fall back when the month rolls over, so a gap that looks huge today can close fast.
