How the Roblox visits counter works

Every public Roblox experience shows a visits total on its game page. This counter reads that same total through Roblox's public games API, together with how many people are playing right now and how many have the game in their favorites. You can search by name, paste the game link or type the place ID (the number after /games/ in the link).

Visits are not players

A visit is one join. Someone who plays every day for a month adds about thirty visits, so a game with billions of visits has far fewer different players than that. For the number of people in a game right now, look at Playing now under the counter or open the Roblox game player count.

Why the number only goes up

Roblox answers from many machines and a few of them lag a little behind, so reading the total twice in a row can give a lower number the second time. Visits never really drop, so the counter keeps the highest total it has seen and simply waits for Roblox to pass it. Our server reads the total every 15 seconds and the page checks for a new one every 5 seconds.

Can I show the visit count on stream?

Yes. Under Share and embed, copy the OBS browser source URL and add it as a Browser source of 380 by 120 pixels. It has no ads and a transparent style for gameplay.
