How Many People Play FiveM Right Now? Live Stats

We track every public FiveM server, all day, and add up the players. That gives a real answer to a simple question, plus a few numbers that matter if you are thinking about starting a server of your own.

Everything below comes from our own tracker, which reads the public cfx.re server list every 5 minutes. The line marked live updates while you read. Everything else is a snapshot taken at 15:35 UTC on 24 September 2026, and the text describes that snapshot.

Players right now

The number right now is on our live counter. Open the live FiveM player count

The player number in the box is everyone who was connected to a public FiveM server at 15:35 UTC. The list the FiveM client shows under Servers held 33,479 servers at that moment, and only 7,960 of them had anyone on. The rest were empty, private test servers or communities that only open in the evening.

Servers that hide themselves from the public list are not in the count. Neither is GTA Online itself, which runs on Rockstar's own servers.

When you look matters a lot. At 15:35 UTC, the highest total we had logged in the previous 24 hours was 195,444, and the lowest in our chart below is 79,518 at 09:05 UTC. The same game, less than half the players, depending on the hour.

The day curve by region

The total never drops near zero, because FiveM is played on every continent. Its highest reading is the very first one, 195,444 at 21:20 UTC on 23 September (23:20 in Berlin, 18:20 in São Paulo), so the total may have been higher still before our log began. The lowest point came around 09:05 UTC, when the Americas are asleep and Southeast Asia has not started its evening yet.

Split the players by the language a server sets and you can watch the world take turns. Each small chart below has its own scale, so compare the shapes, not the heights.

Thai servers peak at 15:05 UTC, 22:05 in Bangkok. Brazilian servers peak at 00:25 UTC, 21:25 in São Paulo, and English servers at 01:45 UTC, the evening on the US east coast. If you want a busy server at a certain hour, pick your community's time zone first.

See the sharp dip in the Thai line at 11:15 UTC? The Thai total fell from 12,998 to 6,439 and came back within half an hour. Of the 41 Thai servers that had 50 or more players just before, 19 lost most of them at the same moment, which looks like a round of scheduled restarts at about 18:00 Thai time.

Biggest servers

Seven of the ten biggest servers at that moment set Thai as their language; the other three set Indonesian, English and Romanian. Even the smallest of them had 1,254 players on. Those seven set their limit between 1,500 and 2,048 slots.

Players bunch up on a small number of servers. The top 50 servers held 26.4% of everyone playing, and the top 500 held 72.8%. The other 7,460 servers with players shared what was left.

The busiest servers change through the day with the time zones. The FiveM server list shows the ranking as it is right now, and the roleplay list filters it to RP servers.

Server population: what the number and the queue mean

A server shows two numbers, like 312/2048. The first is how many players are connected right now. The second is the slot limit the owner set with sv_maxclients. It is a ceiling, not a promise.

Among the servers that had players, the most common limit was 48 (1,458 servers), followed by 64 and 128. 48 is the largest server Cfx.re lets you run without a paid subscription, which is why so many owners stop there.

The connected number counts people, not activity. Someone loading in, sitting in character selection or away from the keyboard is in it. Players waiting in a queue usually are not, so a full server can have a line of people waiting that you do not see in the count. Big servers often post their queue length on Discord.

On this site, population means that connected number, sampled every 5 minutes for the charts and every 15 seconds on a server's live page.

How to check one server's population

1. Open the FiveM player count page.
2. Type the server name in the search box, or paste its join link (cfx.re/join/ plus a short code). The code alone works too.
3. Pick the server. You get the live player count, its slot limit, its rank and a chart of the last 24 hours.
4. To watch two servers against each other, use compare two FiveM servers.

In the game itself, the Servers tab in the FiveM client shows the same players and slots for every server and can sort by player count. It does not keep any history, which is what our charts are for.

Starting your own server: how many slots you really need

Most FiveM servers are small. Of the 7,960 servers that had at least one player at 15:35 UTC, half had 2 players or fewer, 77.4% had 8 or fewer, 88.3% had 32 or fewer, and only 317 had more than 128.

The chart shows the split. Most servers sit in the smallest groups, while most players are on the few big ones. For a new community that means you do not need a big slot limit to start. 48 slots are more than most new servers fill in their first months, and you can raise the limit later.
